英國首相伊麗莎白·特拉斯20日宣布，辭去首相職務和執政黨保守黨黨首職務，但將繼續擔任首相至新領導人產生。保守黨新黨首選舉將於下周內舉行。
特拉斯當天在倫敦唐寧街10號首相府門前發表簡短聲明說，她就任首相時，英國面臨的經濟和國際形勢都非常不穩定。保守黨先前選她為黨首就是為了改變這一局面。特拉斯承認，鑒於目前狀況，自己無法完成這一任務。
特拉斯宣布辭職後，工黨、自由民主黨隨即要求提前舉行大選。路透社說，特拉斯成為英國歷史上在職時間最短的首相。
