韓美將於本月底實施大規模聯合空中演習。部分意見指出，朝鮮有可能從中國共產黨第二十次全國代表大會閉幕的本月底至美國中期選舉日的下月8日之間進行第七次核試驗，韓美此次聯演旨在對朝發出警告。
據韓軍18日發布的消息，韓美將從本月31日至下月4日在韓國上空實施備戰綜合訓練。韓國F-35A、F-15K、KF-16等140余架戰機，以及美國F-35B、F-16等100余架戰機將參演。其中F-35B戰機駐紮在日本巖國美軍基地，與F-35A不同，可垂直起降，因此能為航母服務。
7月有美軍6架F-35A戰機、9月23日至10月8日有「裏根」號核動力航母戰 雙效犀利士、 超級犀利士、 印度犀利士、 雙效犀利士真偽、 雙效犀利士正品、 超級雙效犀利士效果、 超級雙效犀利士、 雙效犀利士哪裡買、 超級雙效犀利士哪裏買、 超級犀利士副作用 鬥群、本月底還將有大批美軍戰機來韓參加聯演，可見韓美領導人5月會晤達成一致的「經協商適時將美國戰略武器轉移至韓國」這一方針逐步落地。
這將是韓美自2017年12月以來首次如此大規模實施聯合空演。在朝鮮不斷發起挑釁造成局勢緊張升級的情況下，韓美認為當前的嚴峻局勢不亞於5年前。軍方還稱，此次演習還存在恢復其間大幅縮水的韓美聯演規模的意義。
另外，澳大利亞空軍戰力也將參演，進一步加強印太地區友邦之間合作。根據韓澳上月簽署的「空中加油互助協議」，澳方將派遣空中加油機等戰力赴韓參演。
