據美國福克斯新聞網24日報道，美國國務院一名前雇員周一承認，在外派到美國駐菲律賓大使館工作期間，他與當地未成年人發生性行為並因此違法。
美國司法部周一發聲明表示，現年63歲的迪恩·愛德華·切夫斯（Dean Edward Cheves）於2017年至2021年在美國駐菲律賓大使館工作，在此期間，他通過互聯網結識了多名當地未成年人。

美司法部指出，他製作和接收的這些非法的視頻和圖片等材料，後來在其大使館住所內查獲的設備中被發現。美司法部補充說，切夫斯當時知道這些未成年人的年齡。切夫斯已於2021年3月被送回美國。
