據美國有線電視新聞網（CNN）等媒體消息，紐約當地警方證實，10月24日，紐約一名20歲男子意外死亡。據稱，這名男子因衣服被地鐵車廂門夾住而被拖到鐵軌上，隨後另一列地鐵迎頭駛來，導致這名男子死亡。
而在10月23日，一名62歲的男子在紐約布朗克斯區的一個地鐵站內遭到攻擊，這名男子的後腦勺遭到重擊，導致他從站臺上摔到鐵軌上。當地警方稱，站內警員迅速將受害者扶回站臺，隨後逮捕了襲擊者，一名來自布魯克林的21歲男子。
10月21日，32歲的大衛·馬丁被流浪漢拉馬爾·麥克雷推到鐵軌上。雖然馬丁並沒有被火車撞到，但他的鎖骨卻因此骨折。
紐約警方稱，發生在21日和23日的兩起襲擊案不存在任何關聯。而紐約市市長亞當斯則在23日宣布，計劃增加在該市地鐵系統巡邏的警察人數。
